NDCRPF, Who has seen future.... But there are some people who have power to mould present and create future. Somebody born at the fag end of 19th century around 1895 had different ideas about life . Champat Ram was born in Dundinagla and dared to leave his kith and kin and join military service. He was a 'krantikari' from inside and same unfolded in actions in later part of his life. His wife Naraini Devi was from the village Khunak. He had a chance to visit Lahor, Peshawar, Kabul and few other places while working for Indian military under British rule. He was nomadic for initial years of his service and finally was made to settle down in his 'Sasural' i.e Khunak. He was a benevolent soul, unassuming and caring. Whereas Naraini Devi was daring and ‘dabang’ and inculcated higher moral values, honesty and importance of hard work in life, in all their children. They had megre resources and gradually built their empire from 7 beegha agriculture land and a small shop that Nairaini Devi was running.
Next generation had opportunity to get education and was able to further strengthen agriculture... It was spearheaded by Jagan Ram Pali , their eldest son who was the first graduate in the family. As a teacher he worked in a few colleges of Bareilly and Badaun. He understood the value of education and guided and inspired who so ever came within his circle of influence. He also envisioned carriers of all children in the family.
The family was among the best cultivators during60-80s. It was a very progressive family. Gokul Chand, Jaipal Singh, Premendra Pratap Singh and Bhoopendra Paratap Singh while were taking care of agriculture the ladies Girija Devi, Vidyabati, Ramshree Devi, Usha Devi and Nirmala Bhoopendra provided the emotional strength and kept the family and house in order. The elders of the family were self-righteous with high moral values and these traits were ingrained in family DNA. The children never used any corrupt means to acquire money, property or position. In their hay days elders encouraged people for education, patronized culturally and financially weak and supported higher values in other people as well. Master Gauhar Ali, Swamiji, Tassaduck, Majeed and Ramjani are a few examples.
The family never promoted dowry and extravagant flooding of money in marriages. They had views which were ahead of times. Simplicity, humility and integrity was the motto of the family and even to this day it’s being followed by present generation. The third generation had fully embraced and pursued higher education. Their inclinations towards music were well supported and honed under the tutelage of some renowned Ustads of that era. Ustad Chunne Khan, Ustad Gauhar Ali, Sitthan, Sajjan and Munnalal. For physical wellbeing ample sports activities were undertaken ny children besides working at the farm and helping agriculture. The importance of English was visualized by elders and so most of children were exposed to wonderful teaching methods of Sri Balmukund Sahai. This write-up is a testimony to the fact that his teachings were excellent. Most of children of the family found avenues in research and teaching. Agriculture was at the back burner for couple of decades. The family members were spread out in various parts of the country and also abroad. They earned their name and fame in fields of their choice. Besides academics they had a natural bent for sports and games, music, literature and Indian culture. This third generation had seen the rise from agriculture to different walks of public and academic life. They had a chance to work in the field; raising crops, doing all kinds of agricultural operations ploughing, planting, harvesting and selling etc. While they were schooling at Badaun. Obviously, they had more attachment with village life and with their roots.
Fourth generation had very limited opportunities to visit Kahunak owing to infrequent visits due to distance and also on account of disruption of self-cultivation of land by our people. The land was divided and people in-charge were kind of incapacitated due to age. Consequently, the fourth generation had very little to feel attachment for old houses, farm and other structures at Khunak. The place and people, who made it possible for us to have a comfortable life, had many ingrained stories of their struggle and exploits in the house and structures around. Now the third generation is well settled in life and fourth generation is busy pursuing their dreams; this is high time that contributions of elders should be acknowledged and family members continue to awaken, guide and inspire society as a mark of their indebtedness to elders of the family. This foundation is aimed to spread education in the society, to create more opportunities and also provide financial support to students and to create opportunities to farmers to learn new techniques for improving agriculture. NDCRPF will create the opportunities by instituting a number of scholarships to promote education in our community. NDCRP Foundation is committed to make a significant change in the life of people through education. They walked alone and now we are 100 to walk on their footprints.
